Minister Marie P.
Over the years I started to pick up weight and my daughter Wanda told me one day she was going to make sure I lived. Next thing I know we’re eating all uncooked, unprocessed foods. I have lost a total of 68 pounds and feel great. I work out 5-6 times a week. I don’t feel my age of 66 at all. Loving my new lifestyle.
I have been a participant of the Eden-N-The Raw life style and I would like to take a moment to thank Wanda Peyton for giving me the chance and the opportunity to do something about my health and my weight. Since starting my new ...life style I have gone from wearing a size 26 pant to a 20 and I just got my labs back today and my hemoglobin A1C. Has gone down from 13.2 to 8.2 to God be the Glory. I got a little discourage at the beginning because I didn't see the weight coming off, but I feel the difference in everything I do now and in how I feel and look. Thank you Lord for sending Wanda into my life with her program and her commitment to educate and help people live healthier. " I'm just saying."
I have been an emotional eater most of my adult life. (Something that most women struggle with) A little over 10 years ago I was able to get to my healthy weight after being diagnosed as being clinically obese by losing 60 pounds. I was on my way to a healthy and inspired lifestyle and than in 2009, the weight started to slowly creep back on. Don’t you know nothing actually creeps up on you . . . I went back to eating food on the go aka fast food. I went back to not cooking at home and not controlling my portion sizes. My body type is of such that I cannot simply eat “right” and not exercise nor can I exercise and not eat right. I have to do both. That’s just the way my body responds. So after being at my healthy weight for 10 years, I found myself back to being at a weight that was unhealthy. I started having pain in my feet – my body frame just couldn’t handle the excess weight. I being “plan” after “plan” and joined gym and after gym until I finally just stopped. I remember one Sunday in church (in 2012) asking Wanda about her weight loss and the glow she had on her face and she shared that she was “raw”. She told me it wasn’t an easy lifestyle and gave me a DVD to watch. A year later in October 2013, Wanda shared at one of our Women’s Meeting at Reconciliation Community Church about a healthy lifestyle of eating and exercising. I didn’t start what she shared until January 2014 and then Wanda approached me in February 2014 about trying the raw lifestyle for 30 days. I committed to give it a try for 30 days. I started feeling better, not missing meat protein or cooking. After the 30 days she asked me how I felt. I was losing weight and feeling great. So I decided to continue the lifestyle of EDEN-N-THE RAW. I have lost 40 pounds and have about 17 more to reach my healthy weight. I truly give G-d the glory for this life change and using Wanda to introduce this lifestyle to me. When people come up to me and say, Carol, you look good . . . I always respond now, “I feel better than I look!!” Because I truly feel great. My focus is better, clarity of mind, energy level is high and overall wellness.
Before I started this journey I was overweight, lacked energy, and struggled with motivation to be healthier and make healthier choices. The 30 day challenge was exactly what I needed. Not only did my energy levels improve, but I felt healthier and my sleep was more restful. My portion sizes are more controlled and vegetables are a regular staple in my meals. The "new me" is easily motivated to exercise and my day doesn't feel complete without it. I've lost a total of 29 pounds since my journey began. I thank God for Eden N The Raw and the heal-thy challenge.
My name is Marthina Wallace, I have been an Eden-n-the-raw citizen since June 16,2014. I have not only lost weight, but have achieved wonderful health benefits. I was 255 pounds and now hit the scales at 223 at last week's weigh-in. The scales hardly tell the whole story for I was on 3 medications now down to 2 with 1 of them half the dosage. My sight has improved, even my dentist visit was a surprise being told that my scores had all returned to normal range. My most recent lab work results came back picture perfect and I walked 3 miles nonstop with a 15 pound weighted backpack during a fitness class and much much more. Well, after all this good stuff I just could not keep it to myself so I challenged my family to go raw for just 1 day. 11 people were issued the challenge and 9 accepted with a bonus person my 89 year old mother (I figured why challenge her we live together and she is always trying to get me to eat her grease laden "country" cooking) took on the challenge along with my 10 year old nephew. This has been such a shot in the arm of encouragement for me because I now have 11 more reasons to stay with this lifestyle. I am trusting the process and trusting The Lord and as He always does, He gives us more than we can even imagine! Thanks Eden N The Raw!!!!
